The Beech Cliff Trail is a traditional “iron rung” trail in Acadia National Park, located on the southwest bank of Echo Lake on Mount Desert Island. This unique trail contains a series of ladders that transport hikers up through some of the park’s most intriguing and dramatic rock formations. A benefit of this trail is that it is less well-known than the popular Beehive Trail or Precipice Trail. While this hike does not reach the summit of Beech Mountain, the views from the top of the surrounding cliffs are spectacular. Check out Echo Lake Beach and beyond!
