Product Description

Cape Henlopen, or as the locals call it, The Point, is located in Lewes, Delaware between the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. To get to Cape Henlopen, you have to go into Cape Henlopen State Park, named for the cape itself.

Known for its stunning views at sunrise and sunset, you can view various boats, ships, wildlife and more all year at Cape Henlopen. Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources, which oversees all of Delaware’s state parks, closes the mile and a half walk around the cape from March through September so endangered beachnesting birds can have a place to nest. Some species that use Cape Henlopen to nest include oystercatchers and piping plovers.

Dolphins are known to frequent the waters around the Point as well, and you will be able to view two of Delaware’s lighthouses off the shore – the East End Breakwater Lighthouse and the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse.
