The universe is wider than our views of it ✨ Did you know there’s a swinging bridge in CT? I learned of it last year and it’s been on my list since 📍
The Henry David Thoreau Footbridge can be found at Hidden Valley Preserve in Washington Depot, CT. The bridge is 120 feet long and is inscribed with quotes from Henry David Thoreau, a 19th century author and philosopher who is known for being a nature lover 🌿
Once you cross the bridge, you’ll have 650 acres of trails to explore. One of which leads to an abandoned quartz mine.
🥾 If you’re up for more exploring, be sure to check out Mount Tom State Park. The views from the stone tower on the summit won’t disappoint! This is also a great place to swim
🍦If you’re ready to cool down, grab some delicious ice cream from @arethusa_farm . Their sweet cream ice cream is Steve’s absolute favorite! He says it’s the best ice cream he’s ever had 😋
🍷 If you’re thirsty, head to @hopkinsvineyard to enjoy a glass of wine while you soak in the picturesque views
🌅 Then take a short drive to Lake Waramaug to catch the sunset. This is said to be one of the prettiest lakes in CT! This is also one of our favorite places to drop in 🛶
🍴After all of that venturing, end your day with dinner from @athecorner. The location alone is insta-worthy, and wait until you see the menu!
