Product Description

Quill Hill is located between the towns of Rangeley and Stratton on Oddy’s Road off Route 16. A four-mile dirt road leads to the 2848′ summit, where there is ample parking and easy maneuvering for even the largest vehicles.

Quill Hill can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. A wood-fired grill and picnic tables are available just below the summit. You can either walk the 3/4 mile wheelchair path or drive the two minutes to the summit from here. Visitors are welcome to enjoy stargazing, but property staff request that they not spend the night.

From late May to mid-October, Quill Hill is open 24 hours a day to vehicles of all types – cars, motorcycles, atvs, and RVs. The gate will then be closed for the rest of the year, but visitors are welcome to hike, bike, ski, or even snowmobile to the summit.

Quill Hill is privately owned and maintained for the enjoyment of the public. Please obey posted speed limits and pick up your trash. Donations are greatly appreciated in order to defer the cost of road maintenance. The staff recommends a fee of $10 per vehicle and $5 per passenger. There are two donation boxes, one at the bottom and one near the grill area that you can’t miss on your way down.
